2018 MY Maruti Suzuki S-Cross gets huge discount which includes a massive cash discount of Rs. 60,000
Maruti Suzuki is offering 2018 MY S-Cross comes with a total discount of up to Rs. 95,000 which includes Rs. 60,000 cash discount, Rs. 25,000 additional exchange bonus and a corporate discount of Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 10,000. The corporate discount is also available for 2019 MY of S-Cross.
The sales of S-Cross have been coming down for the last few months and the crossover registered 28 per cent negative Year-On-Year growth in January as the company sold 2,490 units compared to 3,280 units in same month last year. The Month-On-Month growth was also down by 28 per cent. We can expect the discount offers to improve sales for the crossover.
The S-Cross is currently available only with a diesel engine and it is the same 1.3 L engine sourced from FCA, which does duty on so many other models of Maruti Suzuki. Earlier reports indicated that Maruti is planning to introduce the newly developed 1.5 L petrol engine with dual battery setup and SHVS system in the S-Cross.
The company is developing a new 1.5 L diesel engine to replace the current 1.3 L engines and it is likely to be introduced in Ciaz and Ertiga in the coming months. We can expect Maruti Suzuki to replace the current 1.3 L engine in S-Cross with this new 1.5 L unit in the second half of this year and it will improve the performance of the crossover.
Maruti Suzuki might introduce the full hybrid system with S-Cross by 2020 in India as they are working with Bosch on localizing parts to lower the cost. The current 1.3 L diesel engine on S-Cross produces 89 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to 5-speed manual gearbox and it doesn’t come with an automatic gearbox.
The S-Cross is offered in four variants – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The Crossover is loaded with features like touch screen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, climate control, cruise control, reverse camera with parking sensors, LED projector headlamps with DRLs, rain sensing wipers, keyless entry, push-button start and more.
