Nexa-bound 6-seater 2019 Maruti Ertiga Sport spied in India for the first time ahead of Diwali launch, to get captain seats in the middle row

After months of speculations and false alarms, the 2019 Maruti Ertiga Sport has finally been spotted for the first time ever. From this, it is clear that the country’s largest selling carmaker will soon launch a more premium version of its popular MPV.

Based on the second generation Maruti Ertiga, the new model will have a handful of styling updates, a more premium interior and a longer equipment list. The 2019 Maruti Ertiga Sport was recently spotted testing in Pune and from the looks of it, the production model would get new soft parts that will give it a rugged look.

However, the 2019 Maruti Ertiga Sport would feature the same body panels as the regular model. It looks like the upcoming model would have a bolder nose that would feature a larger grille, more chrome appliques, a new bumper with larger air intakes and rugged plastic cladding all around. Even the ground clearance will be more than that of the regular MPV.

While details of the interior aren’t clearly known at the moment, it is highly likely that the 2019 Maruti Ertiga Sport would have an all-black cabin. Also, unlike the current version, which has bucket seats at front and bench seats in middle and rear row, the new model would have bucket seats at both front and middle row. This will make it a strict 6-seater.

Unlike the regular version, which comes with petrol and diesel engine options, the 2019 Maruti Ertiga Sport will be available only with a petrol engine option. It will be powered by a BSVI-compliant version of the K15B petrol engine that debuted on the Maruti Ciaz facelift.
