1Hero Passion iSmart
The Hero Passion has been a very practical and popular commuter since it was launched in 2001, as the Hero Honda Passion though. Now with more than one and half decades passed, the bike is being sold as Hero passion Pro with little bit of makeover. In a steep competitive market, the sales figure for the bike is dropping.
No wonder, the 100cc commuter segment is one of the most congested and competitive segment in the Indian motorcycle market. Hero MotoCorp being as the leading manufacturer of entry level commuter motorcycles couldn’t afford to let loose the grip. The company has taken an unique strategy to give its regular motorcycles a touch of new technology.
The two wheeler manufacturer is readying the Hero Passion Pro iSmart, which comes with the company’s patented i3S technology. This technology helps in saving fuel, and therefore emitting less pollutant in the environment. The technology enables the motorcycles engine to shut down automatically while the motorcycle is in idle mode. The engine can be switched on with the clutch being pressed.
The Hero MotoCorp has already started dispatching the hero Passion Pro iSmart to the dealerships, and the sales is expected to begin soon. With the passion Pro enabled with new i3S technology the sales figure is expected to get a boost. And with a launch during the festive season is making the hero MotoCorp pretty much hopeful about the Passion Pro iSmart’s Success.
Apart from the new technology the commuter motorcycle is expected to get a new body decal, while other changes are unlikely. On the mechanical front as well, the motorcycle retains the same 97.2cc engine mated to a 4-speed transmission. The engine churns out 8.20BHP of peak power at 8,000RPM and 8.05NM of peak torque at 5,000RPM, while the fuel economy stands at 84kmpl.
