In the coming months, Toyota is expected to launch the Urban Cruiser Taisor, which will be positioned below the Urban Cruiser Hyryder and above the Glanza in the brand’s lineup. The compact SUV coupe is the reengineered version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx and thus minor exterior and changes are likely. It will be equipped with a 1.2L NA petrol or a 1.0L turbo petrol engine with manual and automatic transmission choices.

2. Toyota Fortuner Mild Hybrid:

The forthcoming mild-hybrid variant of the Fortuner integrates a 48-volt mild hybrid system with the existing GD series engine. It will help contribute reducing emissions while boosting acceleration and more importantly, overall fuel economy. The Hilux’s range has already been expanded in the global markets with the addition of the mild hybrid variant.

3. 7-Seater Toyota Hyryder:

The upcoming seven-seater version of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is expected to enter the market early next year. Positioned to compete against rivals such as the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, 7-seater Citroen C3 Aircross and Hyundai Alcazar, it will get cosmetic updates to differentiate itself from the standard five-seater. Under the hood, the 1.5L mild-hybrid petrol and 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engines will stay put.

4. Toyota Electric SUV:

Drawing inspiration from the Urban electric SUV concept, the Toyota electric SUV will have a lot in common with the Maruti Suzuki eVX and it will launch in H2 2025. With both single and dual motor configurations, it will be equipped with a 60 kWh battery pack, capable of a claimed driving range of around 550 km on a single charge.

It will be underpinned by Toyota’s 27PL dedicated EV platform and will rival midsize electric SUVs including the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX, Tata Curvv which is set to launch in mid-2024, and Mahindra XUV.e8.
