Hero Motorcorp is preparing to launch a variety of new bikes in the Indian market – Xpulse 400, Xpulse 210, new 125cc commuter and Xtreme 440R
Hero Motocorp is gearing up to introduce a slew of new products in the Indian market. These include a new 125cc commuter motorcycle along with the Xpulse 400, Xpulse 210 and the Xtreme 440R naked sports bike. Let’s have a look at their details.
1. Hero New 125cc Bike
Hero is currently leading in the entry-level 100cc motorcycle segment. In an attempt to strengthen its portfolio, the company is preparing to make a mark in the 125cc segment as well. While there are already a few commuter-friendly bikes in the portfolio, a sporty youth-oriented machine is the need of the hour. Earlier, a leaked document suggested that a sporty 125cc bike is in the works and its test mule was also spotted in June this year.
The prototype was seen sporting a new sporty design accompanied by all-LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, rear set foot pegs, split seats and a rear mono-shock. Hero is expected to use of new platform for this bike and the engine details are still under wraps. The new 125cc bike is expected to debut sometime in 2024.
2. Hero Xtreme 440R
The Xtreme 440R will be the next big launch from Hero Motocorp. Extending its premium motorcycle range, India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer will launch the Xtreme 440R by the end of 2024. The bike will be powered by a 440cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine borrowed from the Harley Davidson X440, the latest product from the Hero-Harley partnership. The engine is tuned for a maximum power output of 27 bhp and 38 Nm of peak torque. Staying true to the Xtreme nameplate, the 440R will feature a sporty design along with an array of modern equipment.
3. Hero Xpulse 400 & Xpulse 210
The Hero Xpulse 400 has been in development for a long time now and we have come across multiple test mule images of the bike being tested in various parts of the country. With the new Xpulse 400, Hero Motocorp is aiming to take on the likes of the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 452.
Reports suggest that the bike will draw power from a 420 cc liquid-cooled engine, a first for Hero. In terms of equipment, the Xpulse 400 is expected to get USD forks, a digital instrument cluster, long travel suspension, switchable rear ABS and a 21-inch front wheel amongst others. It is expected to launch only in 2025 and Hero appears to be working on a 210 cc Xpulse (likely next-gen Xpulse) based on the Karizma and it could be launched in the near future as well (spy shot shown above).
