Here we have explained about the possible upcoming seven-seater SUVs and MPVs from Kia over the next two years

Kia will launch the facelifted Sonet next month in India and it will be followed by the new generation Carnival sometime in 2024. The AY compact SUV has also been speculated for a debut late next year but here we have explained about the possible upcoming seven-seater models from the brand:

1. Kia EV9:

As the current flagship seven-seater electric SUV for the brand, the EV9 saw its world premiere earlier this year. The production model, boasting a claimed driving range of 541 km in the WLTP cycle, is set to arrive in India in the latter part of 2024 or 2025, following a full import route and we are yet unsure if it will hit the local assembly lines in the future.

In the international markets, the Kia EV9 is available in both single- and dual-motor configurations. It will join the EV6 crossover in the brand’s domestic lineup. The EV9 will also be high on practicality with a spacious interior and the equipment list will boast high-end technologies and ADAS-based features.

2. New-Gen Kia Carnival:

Recently unveiled in Korea, the Kia Carnival facelift is set to make its global presence felt in India in 2024 as the fourth generation will be launched here for the first time. With the discontinuation of the old-gen Carnival, the all-new MPV is a more upscale offering with a brand new exterior and interior as far as the domestic market is concerned.

The likelihood of retaining the 2.2L turbo diesel engine, delivering 200 PS and 440 Nm of torque, is high and it will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission driving only the front wheels. The features list has also gained new technologies and it will be available in multiple seating configurations to appease buyers.

3. Kia Electric RV & Carens Facelift:

A long while ago, Kia announced its plans to introduce an electrified recreational vehicle (RV) in the Indian market within the next two years and we presume it to be an MPV. The South Korean auto major brought the spotlight back on the MPV space with the Carens. It may as well do the same in the electric vehicle segment banking on its practicality complemented by a large battery pack enabling good driving range. The IC-engined Carens could get a mid-life update in the near future too.
