Here we have explained about the three upcoming Toyota cars that are expected to launch within the next twelve months in India and all of them are SUVs

As the plan for introducing the 7-seater Toyota Corolla Cross appears to be on hold, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is gearing up to introduce up to three new SUVs over the next 12 months in India. They will be followed by a brand new electric SUV based on the Maruti Suzuki eVX in the second half of 2025 with claimed range of up to 550 km.

Here we have brought you a rundown of the 3 upcoming models including the Urban Cruiser Taisor which will be introduced as early as next month:

1. Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor:

On April 4, 2024 Toyota will officially introduce the Urban Cruiser Taisor in India following months of speculations. The compact SUV coupe will slot in below the Urban Cruiser Hyryder and above the Glanza. Derived from the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, it’s expected to undergo minor exterior tweaks and interior changes. Under the hood, customers can expect the option of a 1.2L NA petrol or a 1.0L turbo petrol engine. Both manual and automatic transmission choices will be offered.

2. Toyota Fortuner Mild Hybrid:

The upcoming mild-hybrid variant of the Fortuner is set to feature a seamlessly integrated 48-volt mild hybrid system, enhancing the performance of the existing GD series diesel engine. This technology will not only reduce emissions but also improve acceleration and, most notably, fuel efficiency. Already introduced in global markets, the Hilux range has seen an expansion with the inclusion of the mild hybrid variant.

While no official launch details are out yet, we do expect it to launch later this year or in early 2025. One of its main rivals, the Ford Endeavour, will more likely make a comeback to the domestic market sometime this year or in 2025.

3. 7-Seater Toyota Hyryder:

Scheduled for a debut early next year, the forthcoming seven-seater iteration of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder will go up against MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, 7-seater Citroen C3 Aircross, and Hyundai Alcazar. It will sport distinctive cosmetic updates to set it apart from its standard five-seater counterpart. Beneath the hood, the 1.5L mild-hybrid petrol and 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engines are set to remain unchanged.
