3 New Tata Cars Spied On Test – Nexon CNG, Curvv, Harrier EV

Tata Motors is actively developing the Nexon CNG, Curvv, and Harrier EV models for the Indian market. Recently seen undergoing tests on Indian roads, these upcoming Tata cars will get plenty of new features

After introducing the Tata Altroz Racer at a starting price of Rs 9.49 lakh (ex-showroom), Tata Motors is now focusing on launching several new models in the Indian market. Here are three upcoming Tata cars that have been spied during testing on Indian roads.

1. Tata Nexon CNG

The Nexon CNG, a highly anticipated model from the manufacturer, was recently spied during testing on Indian roads. Showcased at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, the Tata Nexon iCNG will get a twin-cylinder setup. It will likely be paired with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine which will generate 118 bhp max power and 170 Nm peak torque.

Some notable features of this SUV will include a single ECU for better system control, direct CNG start, automatic full switching and a leak detection system. Considering all these features, the Tata Nexon CNG will carry a premium of Rs 2 lakh to Rs 3 lakh over the standard variants.

2. Tata Curvv

The company is expected to launch the Tata Curvv Coupe SUV in the coming months. The Curvv EV will be built on the brand’s new Acti.ev platform, while its ICE models are anticipated to be equipped with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine. Tata Motors claims that the Curvv EV will provide a certified range of between 450-500 km on a single charge.

We expect the Tata Curvv to be available within a price range of Rs 15 lakh – Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market. It will rival the likes of the existing models, such as Honda Elevate, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

3. Tata Harrier EV

Showcased at the Auto Expo 2023 and Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, the Tata Harrier EV is likely to launch in the first half of 2025 in India. The test mule of the upcoming Harrier EV has been spotted testing recently on Indian soil. It will be based on Tata Motors’ new acti.E20 platform, which will mark the manufacturer’s debut of an AWD version in their electric vehicle lineup.

The AWD variant will be powered by dual electric motors, positioned on each axle. The company is yet to reveal the specifications of the upcoming Harrier EV, however, it is likely to offer a claimed range of up to 500 km per charge. Inside the cabin, the Harrier EV will sport a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a 10-speaker JBL audio system, a wireless charger, front ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof and much more. The electric SUV will likely get Level 2 ADAS features, such as Blind Spot Monitoring and adaptive cruise control, among others.
