3 New Midsize SUVs Launching Soon – Rs. 15 Lakh Price Range

Over the next three to five months, the midsize SUV segment in India will see significant activity, with several new models waiting to debut

Here we have listed the three new midsize SUVs that are confirmed to launch in the coming months in India from car brands such as Hyundai, Tata and Citroen.

1. Citroen Basalt:

Premiered on March 27 as a concept, the Citroën Basalt SUV coupe is set to be launched in the second half of this year in India. It shares the CMP architecture with the C3 and C3 Aircross and will be priced competitively thanks to high local content. It will be powered by a 1.2L three-cylinder turbo petrol engine generating 110 PS and 190 Nm.

Both manual and automatic transmissions will be on offer and an electrified variant could arrive next year. The ICE Citroen Basalt will compete directly with the upcoming Curvv. It will be more premium than the C3 Aircross as more features and technologies will be stuffed in. Expect the starting price to be slightly under Rs. 15 lakh (ex-showroom).

2. Hyundai Alcazar Facelift:

By mid-2024, Hyundai is gearing up to launch the Alcazar facelift, featuring significant revisions both inside and out. Drawing inspiration from the recently updated Creta, the facelifted Alcazar will boast a refreshed exterior design and interior enhancements. Notable additions include new features such as Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

In terms of performance, the Alcazar facelift will retain the reliable 1.5L diesel and 1.5L turbo petrol engines with MT and AT options. However, the prices will start around Rs. 16.8 lakh (ex-showroom).

3. Tata Curvv:

The electric variant of the Curvv is set to hit dealerships by mid-2024, boasting a large battery pack that enables a claimed driving range of over 500 km Following closely, the Tata Curvv EV will be accompanied by its internal combustion engine (ICE) sibling in the second half of the year. It will have a starting price of just over Rs. 15 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be powered by a 1.2L DI petrol and a 1.5L diesel engine found in the Nexon. The production-spec Curvv ICE debuted a couple of months ago.
