Here’s everything that we know yet about the soon-to-debut Hero Mavrick, including details about the design, features, engine, and more

The anticipation is building as Hero MotoCorp gears up for the much-anticipated debut of its newest offering, the Hero Mavrick. A motorcycle born out of collaboration with Harley-Davidson, the Mavrick could be a game-changer for the Indian automaker in the premium segment, where it hasn’t been able to grab a foothold.

As the unveiling date approaches, Hero MotoCorp has treated enthusiasts to a sneak peek, revealing some exciting features. Here’s what we know so far:

1. Brand-New Instrument Console

One of the standout features of the Hero Mavrick is its brand-new, all-digital instrument console. Offering a modern and tech-savvy experience, the negative LCD unit catches the eye with its central speedometer, flanked by a tachometer on the left and a fuel indicator in the centre. But that’s not all; the square part on the right houses Bluetooth connectivity, providing call and SMS alerts, turn-by-turn navigation, battery level information, and even distance and ETA readouts.

2. Harley-Davidson X440-based Engine

At the heart of the Hero Mavrick lies a powerful 440cc, air-cooled engine, a close relative to the powertrain found in its Harley-Davidson cousin, the X440. On the latter, this produces 27 bhp and 38 Nm, this engine promises a thrilling performance on the road. While sharing the engine platform with the X440, the Mavrick is expected to carve its identity with potential tweaks in the state of tune, offering a unique riding experience for cruiser enthusiasts.

3. Bass-heavy Exhaust Note

A cruiser’s identity often lies in its distinctive exhaust note, and the Hero Mavrick seems ready to make a statement. Although not drastically different from its predecessor, the Harley-Davidson X440, the Mavrick’s exhaust design offers a more coherent appearance. The bass-heavy notes emitted by the redesigned silencer are sure to resonate with riders who appreciate the symphony of a cruiser’s engine as they cruise down the open road.

4. Retro-Inspired Design

The teasers show a proper neo-retro design, with premium touches like a round LED headlamp, dual-tone leatherette seat, proportionate tank extensions, a short front fender, and a sculpted fuel tank. We’ve only seen all-black alloy wheels in the teasers, not dual-tone ones, but the prong-shaped spokes look beautiful.
