Bajaj India is slowly updating its entire Pulsar lineup and the latest product to go through the changes is the 2024 220F which was spotted at a dealership

The most influential update is the addition of a new fully digital instrument cluster, which is borrowed from the Pulsar N160. This particular display gets Bluetooth connectivity which enables turn-by-turn navigation. The other upgrade is the addition of a new switchgear which you will need to access the various display menus on the instrument cluster.

Apart from these, the new 2024 Pulsar 220F also gets a USB charging socket that is neatly integrated into the fairing right beside the instrument cluster, while also getting dressed in new graphics and decals. It is priced at Rs. 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune) – close to Rs. 2,500 costlier than before.

Coming to the mechanical department, as expected, there are no changes here on the 2024 model and it will continue to run on the 220cc, air/oil-cooled engine that makes 20.11 bhp of power at 8,500 rpm and 18.55 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. This engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox which has improved a lot over the years.

The Pulsar 220F is managing to sell in good numbers despite the introduction of the new Pulsar range. It is one of the highest-selling motorcycles in the Pulsar range and still commands excellent demand in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. Such is the cult status achieved by the Pulsar 220F that Bajaj India had no other choice but to reintroduce the motorcycle in February 2023 after having discontinued it in April 2022.

In April 2022, Bajaj said they would retire the Pulsar 220F as they had launched the all-new Pulsar 250F along with the 250N which came with more power, more torque and better-equipped hardware. Although the Pulsar 220F was not a very strong performer in straight-line drag races and did not have the chassis to support cornering, it has a great engine which still provides the nostalgic ‘Pulsar-y’ grunt throughout the rev range and combines that with its long wheelbase, it is one of the best mile munchers in the country even now.

The seats are super comfortable, and the rider’s triangle is almost perfect to provide you with a relaxed riding position, but the handle is a wee bit forward set such that you lean a little forward to grip the bike adequately. The current Bajaj Pulsar 220F retains all of this and does benefit from the addition of new features as well as new graphics and decals.
