2022 Tata Harrier XMAS and XMS come with features such as a floating touchscreen infotainment system, reverse parking camera, eight-speaker audio, etc
Tata Motors has today announced the launch of the XMS and XMAS variants of the Harrier in the domestic market and they have a starting price of Rs. 17.20 lakh and Rs. 18.50 lakh respectively (ex-showroom). The XMS manual variant sits above the entry-level XE and XM while the XMAS automatic trim is positioned above the base XMA making it an attractive proposition.
The homegrown auto major introduced the Harrier for the first time in early 2019 and its range has regularly been updated with the inclusion of new variants and features over the years. The 2022 Tata Harrier XMS and XMAS variants are equipped with features such as a panoramic sunroof, an eight-speaker audio system, a reverse parking camera with dynamic guidelines, etc.
With no powertrain changes, the Harrier continues to derive power from a 2.0-litre four-cylinder Fiat-sourced diesel engine, which is good enough to generate a maximum power output of 170 PS and 350 Nm of peak torque. The powertrain is linked with a six-speed manual transmission as standard while a six-speed torque converter automatic unit is an option.
Only a few weeks ago, the brand launched the Jet Edition Nexon, Nexon EV, Harrier and Safari. The 4.6-metre long Harrier can also be had in Kaziranga and Dark Editions. Currently, the Harrier is priced between Rs. 14.69 lakh for the base variant and it goes all the way up to Rs. 22.19 lakh for the range-topping model (ex-showroom).
The Harrier is the first model underpinned by the OMEGA (Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced) platform and is also the first to be based on the Impact Design 2.0 philosophy. The five-seater has a butch styling as the exterior comprises a split headlamp cluster, a raked front windshield, a large greenhouse and sporty-looking alloy wheels.
The Harrier is also one of the safest cars money can buy right now as it has a Global NCAP safety rating of five stars. The interior features a layered dashboard and is loaded with equipment pertaining to comfort, convenience, connectivity and safety.
