2022 Lexus NX 350h comes with a host of changes inside and out and is powered by a 2.5-litre petrol/electric setup with a combined power output of 240 bhp

Lexus India has officially announced that it will launch the new NX 350h in the domestic market on March 9, 2022 and its pre-bookings began just a while ago. The NX luxury crossover debuted back in 2018 and the range was expanded with the addition of the NX 300h Exquisite in 2021 and the brand has endured success with it in the global markets.

The luxury of Toyota will offer the new NX in three variants namely Exquisite, Luxury and F-Sport and they can be booked at the Lexus Guest Experience Centers across India. In the overseas markets, the NX is available in a 2.5-litre four-cylinder, a turbo 2.4-litre four-cylinder, a PHEV in the NX 450h+ and a 2.5-litre petrol/electric lineup.

Upon arrival, it will be the second generation NX 350h to be sold in India as it uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine working in tandem with a dual electric motor setup to produce a combined power output of 240 bhp. The twin-motor setup forms an all-wheel-drive configuration and compared to the previous hybrid model, more power is produced.

It is claimed to accelerate from zero to 96 kmph in just 5.5 seconds – 1.5 seconds quicker. It is worth noting that the old NX was retailed in 300h variant in India. The 2022 Lexus NX sits on the TNGA-K platform with a lower centre of gravity and improved torsional rigidity courtesy of  laser peening welding. Moreover, the rear hatch area is bigger and the overall driving dynamics have been improved.

Compared to the previous model, the 2022 Lexus NX is lighter as it sheds 91 kg. The exterior and interior have also been revised to give a refreshed vibe. On the outside, it comprises a redesigned spindle grille with U-shaped blocks, new headlamps and DRLs, full-width LED taillights, LEXUS lettering on the boot, muscular bonnet and so on.
