2020 Renault Kwid facelift model gets new split headlamps design with tweaked tail lamps and a new set of bumpers
2020 Renault Kwid facelift model has been spotted in India for the first time. The updated model comes with lots of design changes. Most of the changes are focused at the front as the company has given split headlamp design, which is similar to the one in the recently unveiled EV version at Shanghai Auto Show. The conventional headlamp position is taken by LED DRLs.
The headlamps are positioned below it and the bumper also gets a new design. The front grille is also new and it gives a muscular look for the Kwid. The side continues to be the same from the current model and it still doesn’t come with alloy wheels while the rear gets tweaked tail lamps and a new bumper.
The test mule spotted has an integrated spoiler at the rear but it misses out on roof rails and the company might introduce the updated model with some new colour options. The interior is also expected to get some changes like the tweaked dashboard and the quality of materials is also likely to improve compared to the current model.
The touch screen infotainment system might get new software with connectivity options like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The fully digital instrument cluster likely be retained. The hatchback comes with features rear parking sensors, power windows, manual AC and more.
Renault is likely to make some changes for the chassis as the hatchback need to meet the upcoming crash test and they might strengthen the body as well. The safety features include dual-airbags, ABS with EBD, speed warning alert, driver and passenger seat belt alert and more.
The French manufacturer might update the current 0.8 L and 1.0 L engines to meet the BSVI emission norms. The 0.8 L engine produces 53 bhp and 72 Nm while the 1.0 L engine puts out 67 bhp and 91 Nm. These engines are mated to 5-speed manual gearbox and AMT with 1.0 L engine. Renault Kwid facelift is expected to be launched later this year or early next year.
