2019 TVS Wego is expected to launch in the early parts of next year with cosmetic changes and introduction of Synchronized Braking Technology

TVS Motor Company has been on a roll in the last one year by launching a range of new products including the Apache RR310, RTR 160 4V, Ntorq 125 and Radeon 110 – each addressing different set of buyers. It appears that TVS will keep its momentum going into next year as well, as the test prototype of the new Wego 110 has been caught for the first time.

The heavily camouflaged test mule does not let us into many details but the exhaust and tail end were partially seen. While the report says, the scooter does not have LED headlamp, the pillion grab rail has been revised and the blinkers get transparent screen along with red cover for brake lamp, just like the latest scooters from TVS.

The alloy wheels and exhaust system remain the same as the current Wego as well. This means to say TVS could use the 12-inchers wrapped in 90/90 section tubeless tyres on each wheel. Other exterior information regarding the 2019 TVS Wego continue to be hidden behind the curtain but the latest safety standard will enable the homegrown brand to introduce new bits and bobs.

For instance, the mandatory combi braking system for all two-wheelers below 125 cc will be present and in TVS terms it is known as Synchronized Braking Technology. The powertrain will also be BSVI compliant and we do not expect any increase in power and torque outputs.

The 2019 TVS Wego will likely be powered by the same 109.7 cc single-cylinder air-cooled four-stroke engine, which is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 8 PS at 7,500 rpm and 8.4 Nm of peak torque delivered at 5,500 rpm. It employs 130 mm drum brakes at the front and rear with a single 220 mm disc sold only in the top-end.

Built on duplex tubular chassis, it is sprung on traditional telescopic front forks and hydraulic damper at the rear. We can expect the 2019 TVS Wego to be launched in the early part of next year and retain similar dimensions as existing model – 1,834 mm in length, 640 mm in width, 1,115 mm in height with wheelbase of 1,275 mm.

TVS has obviously been strengthening its scooter lineup and recently introduced the Jupiter Grande with full LED headlamp and a semi digital instrumentation.
