2019 Suzuki Gixxer 150 gets a thoroughly redesigned exterior and new digital instrumentation while the powertrain remains identical as before
Suzuki introduced the new Gixxer 155 in the domestic market yesterday and in our walkaround video, we give you a comprehensive look into the motorcycle. On the back of launching the 2019 Gixxer SF 155 and SF 250, Suzuki has refreshed its popular entry-level naked and lot of work has gone into it.
Priced at Rs. 1,00,212 (ex-showroom, New Delhi), the 2019 Suzuki Gixxer comes with a range of cosmetic updates this time around. Standing in line with its faired sibling, the new motorcycle gets a thoroughly revised styling and the changes are obvious from the first time you look at it.
It adorns new multi-tier LED headlamp with a whole new assembly along with redesigned tank shrouds and a brand new tail section. They are complemented by the aggressively put together body panels further elevating the bolder stance and edginess of the naked motorcycle.
The 2019 Suzuki Gixxer also features a stepped-up seat that is longer and a tail lamp with LED lighting technology. The digital instrument cluster is brand new and is borrowed from the Gixxer SF 155 with white backlight replacing the orange colour of the outgoing model. The body graphics is equally attractive as well.
All the changes have commanded a premium of over Rs. 12,000 compared to the previous Gixxer 155. Despite the slew of cosmetic changes, the Gixxer 155 continues to be powered by the same 155 cc single-cylinder air-cooled fuel-injected engine, which is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 13.9 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of peak torque delivered at 6,000 rpm.
The powertrain is connected to a five-speed transmission and for safety, the motorcycle gets single-channel ABS system as standard fitment. It competes against TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Bajaj Pulsar NS 160, Honda CB Hornet 160R and Yamaha FZ-S V3.0. The three colour choices available are Glass Sparkle Black, Metallic Triton Blue and Metallic Sonic Silver.
