New Hyundai Veloster Teased Again Ahead Of Detroit Debut

The teaser video reveals some key design elements of the new Hyundai Veloster; ready to be unveiled at 2018 Detroit Auto Show

Hyundai has teased its new Veloster right for the third time ahead of the car’s premier at the upcoming 2018 Detroit Auto Show that begin from January 14. With the South Korean auto major teasing the car in a brand new video, we have so far come to know several key design elements including the LED DRLs, alloy wheels, font shark fin antenna, dual central exhaust pipes and a sporty prominent rear diffuser as well.

Despite being wrapped in a colourful red print, the teaser video also reveals the 2019 Hyundai Veloster’s sharp headlamps that feature twin barrel LED projector lamps with integrated LED daytime running lights. There is a hexagonal large front grille with aggressive looking black mesh, sculpted looking front bumper as well.

At the side profile, this car gets sporty black bold looking alloy wheels, sharp character lines. The fenders and wheel arches come wearing a crisp tone that is prominently visible despite the camouflage. Hyundai has certainly emphasised on the aerodynamic enhancement of the new Veloster. It features an all black glass area that adds zing to the overall styling.

An earlier video dubbed ‘Live Loud’ showed the new Hyundai Veloster coming with a roaring sound and it will certainly impress the enthusiasts. Hyundai is yet to reveal the details about the powertrain of the new Veloster. Expect it to arrive with two different turbocharged engine options that are a 1.4-litre and a 1.6-litre unit. Performance car enthusiasts should be impressed to read that Hyundai will offer a manual gearbox with the 1.6-litre engine.

2019 Hyundai Veloster Spied UndisguisedWhat’s more interesting is the South Korean auto giant is gearing up to introduce the Veloster N model shortly after the regular Veloster arrives in global showrooms. The Hyundai Veloster N performance-focused model will come powered by 2.0-litre turbocharged four cylinder engine that works under the hood of Hyundai i30 N. This engine is well capable of churning out 271 hp of peak power.

It is not sure if Hyundai Veloster or the Hyundai Veloster N performance model will be launched in Indian market in the coming years and they would have been deemed far more unviable. If the brand decides to bring it here though it would be certainly a very interesting lineup for the performance car enthusiasts in the country.
