The 2018 Tata Tigor facelift launched in India with refreshed styling and new features to lure more buyers, no mechanical change on the facelift model
Tata Motors officially launched the Tigor facelift at Rs. 5.20 Lakh (Ex-Showroom). The changes on Tigor facelift model is focused towards aesthetics as the front get a new bumper with tweaked grille, new projector headlamps but the design of cluster continues to be same and chrome ring on the fog lamps.
But the rear gets clear lens tail lamps and the design is carried over from the previous model. The compact sedan also gets slightly different bumper at the rear and the company has given shark fin antenna. The major change for Tigor facelift is in the interior as centre console gets a new design.
The company has finally added 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system sourced from Harman with Android Auto connectivity and it comes with 8 speakers for excellent audio quality. Tata Motors has given lots of features for Tigor like multi-function steering wheel, electronically controlled outside mirrors, reverse camera with parking sensors, climate control, power windows, alloy wheels and more.
The Tigor comes with safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist. The compact sedan is available in 5 variants – XE, XM, XZ, XZ+ and XZA. The engine lineup continues to be same as the 1.2 L Revotron petrol engine produces 84 bhp of power at 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm.
The 1.05 L Revotorq diesel engine puts out 69 bhp at 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm at 1,800 rpm. Both these engines are mated to a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox is available only with a petrol engine. The claimed mileage of Tigor is 24.4 kmpl for diesel and 20.3 kmpl for petrol.
Tata Motors has also announced that Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan will be the brand ambassador the Tigor and the company is expecting the update to improve sales of the compact sedan. The Tigor compete against Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Honda Amaze.
