2018 Porsche 911 Carrera T is touring-based while adopting engine from the regular Carrera coupe making 370 hp and 460 Nm torque

Porsche is certainly going back its roots with the all new Carrera 911 T. The new model is based on touring and thus the T suffix. In the current 911 series, the Carrera 911 T is the lightest with 1,425 kilograms while the design gets inspired by the Carrera of the same nomenclature first manufactured way back in 1968.

As a standard fitment, the Porsche Carrera 911 T comes with a manual gearbox. It is companied by PASM sport suspension, lowered ride height, short shifter, mechanical rear differential and shorter constant transaxle ratio to name a few. However, for the customers wanting to have rear axle steering, they would have to spec it out separately.

Based on the modern day Carrera coupe, the 911 T is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 370 horsepower and 460 Nm of peak torque from the 3.0-litre six-cylinder boxer engine employing dual turbochargers. It enables a claimed top speed of 290 kmph and zero to 100 kmph acceleration time in just 4.3 seconds.

When the optional PDK automatic transmission is used, the Carrera 911 T can do the 0-100 kmph sprint in just four seconds flat. As Porsche engineers are often obsessed with weight saving, a lightweight glass material is used for rear and side windows while there are door opener loops in contrary to regular handles. It might not save much, but every kg matters for optimised performance.

There are several colour schemes to choose for the customers including guards red, racing yellow, white, Miami blue and lava orange.

As for the interior, there are four-way adjustable seats to keep the occupants comfortable but the full buckets are taken off even from the optional list. The gear level which is now shorter is embossed in red colour. It is available on international markets for pre-ordering and will reach showrooms by March next year with starting price of $103,150 (Rs. 66.91 lakh) including destination.
