The new Gold Wing is more tech biased and also has a lesser weight

Finally, it seems that the rabbit is out of the hat. It has been quite sometime now that the rumours about an all-new Gold Wing in the development have been going viral. A few days back, Honda had released a teaser video that suggested the unveiling of the bike on the coming 24th October. While we were eagerly waiting for the said date trying to keep ourselves calm, a set of leaked press images of the new Gold Wing emerged on the internet.

The new 2018 Honda Gold Wing looks absolutely stunning, to start off with, and it looks a huge improvement over the outgoing model. The first thing that you will notice while looking at the full fledged tourer is that the huge bulbous fairing has given way to a sharp and edgy design due to which the bike claims to save a good amount of weight. The twin headlamp section can be seen loaded with LEDs in abundance to offer a good illumination at nights.

Another important update in the new Honda Gold Wing is that the bike ditches the conventional forks up front and uses a different set up. The motorcycle gets a hub center steering arrangement that looks like a big bicycle fork.

Coming to the cockpit, Honda engineers have put in their sweat and blood in this area as well. The instrument cluster of the 2018 Gold Wing comes with a digital analog layout and has three LCD screens to display basic information. Besides, there is a big screen at the centre that looks to be in sync with the Navigation system. The motorcycle will likely come with a semi active suspension that gets confirmed by the icon seen on the dashboard.

Features like heated seats and grips, cruise control, smartphone connectivity and navigation will be carried forward to the 2018 Honda Gold Wing that come in the current model. The motorcycle is also expected to come with a DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission), which is evident by the fact that the clutch lever looks absent in some of the images.

Expect the details regarding pricing and availability of the 2018 Honda Gold Wing to be unwrapped at the coming 24th October during the Tokyo Motor Show.
