The new KLX250 is a huge improvement over the previous model both in terms of design as well as performance

Kawasaki has just took the wraps off its new dual purpose bike, better known as the KLX250. The 2018 model looks significantly different in comparison to its predecessors and receives a host of visual updates.

Earlier, the Kawasaki KLX250 used to come with a quite conventional and unattractive design language but things have really changed with the 2018 model. Breaking its image as a boring motorcycle to look at, the new KLX250 gets a sharper styling that definitely makes it look better than ever before. The bike has been fitted with two-piece radiator shrouds along with the fork guards at the front and these have took inspiration from the KX family.

Coming to the powertrain, the 2018 Kawasaki KLX250 gets its power from a 249cc, single cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that has been retuned to deliver more torque low down in the rev range. The bike also gets an all-new fuel injection system that not only enhances the fuel economy but also boosts up the performance.

The new Kawasaki KLX250 has been fitted with fully adjustable suspension that makes it easier to ride on the roads as well as the path less travelled. The motorcycle rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels that come coupled with wired wheels. As far as braking is concerned, the KLX250 gets a 250mm twin-piston disc brake upfront along with a 240mm single-piston disc unit for the rear.

The Kawasaki KLX250 will be available for sale in two colour options namely Green along with a Camou edition. Currently, the company is tight lipped about the India launch. The new KLX250 can prove a good decision for the company if it lands here, considering the emerging market for entry-level adventure bikes.

In other news, Kawasaki has sold the first lot of 2017 edition of Ninja 1000 in India. The first batch of motorcycles consisted of 20 units and has been sold out within weeks of the launch.
