2017 Chevrolet Trailblazer Facelift is in the works as the General Motors readies its army of SUV to take over the ASEAN and BRIC markets
Chevrolet is readying a facelift for the Chevrolet Trailblazer, the recently launched and well priced SUV in the market. which was spotted testing in Brazil. Spyshots suggest heavy changes on the inside and outside as the camouflage is intense on this SUV. Chevrolet, like other manufacturer is on making SUV more relevant in the market after launching and upgrading all SUV and nameplates on the way in its strategy.
The most apparent changes we can see now are the new headlights that appear to be similar to others cars in the stable. We expect the SUV to have projector headlights and LEDs in the production version. Other changes at the front include a new engine hood, headlights, fenders and bumper.
The dual grille is retained of the current TrailBlazer. Although it will be slightly re-profiled for an edgier and distinguishable look. The rear end will get updated LED tail-lamps most likely and bumper designs on both ends will be changed.
As of now no changes are reported for the interior of the car as it heavily camouflaged with black tints all around. As with any facelift, we expect this GM model to have updates to the MyLink infotainment system, seat upholstery which will get the leather treatment just like the steering, gear knob, handbrake. Interior features will see an increase when it comes to connectivity and sync applications that can be made available.
The 2017 Chevrolet Trailblazer will offer the same 2.8-liter Duramax turbo diesel engine that is capable of a massive 200 hp and 500 Nm of torque. There is a 3.6-liter V6 petrol engine with 277 hp for international markets which can likely to make to India as the country become anti-diesel.
For us though, the 2.5-liter EcoTec high on economy petrol engine producing 202 hp and 259 Nm of torque should do just fine. Expect the 2018 Chevrolet Trailblazer to have come later this year in South America and early 2018 in India.
