Hyundai India is all set to make things even better with its award winning vehicles. The most popular vehicles of the lot, the Elite and Active i20, are products that sell like hot cakes despite the premium tag on them as they offer even more than the price tag. Hyundai has come under some pressure after the launch of new Jazz and Baleno, its rival and is lacking behind. The company responded in many ways such as cutting trims, small equipment and adding touch screen and navigation system. The place it still lacked was on the safety count.

On the safety front it was offering driver side airbag since the third, Sportz variant. The norm in the segment and the industry has begun by all manufacturer that they are offering dual airbags throughout the range and now Hyundai falls in that too. Hyundai Elite and Active i20 Get Dual Airbags on all variants of diesel and petrol. However, ABS is still not on offer on the lower Era and Magna trims. Looks like that will only happen when the new models or facelifts for these vehicles late next year.

There have been variant revisions this time with the Elite i20. The Sportz (O) variant has been discontinued. The top-end variant of the 2016 i20 Asta (O) now has projector headlamps with cornering function along with LED daytime running lamps which should most likely like the Active i20 or like the Verna of the past.

The massive 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, 7.0-inch Audio Video Navigation system are also standard on Asta (O) variant. 2016 Hyundai Elite and Active i20 now come in five trim levels. The car however continues to be offered with the two engines as before. The 1.4-litre diesel with six-speed and a 1.2-litre petrol engine with 5-speed manual option. Call it the Baleno effect or the Jazz threat Hyundai still has a command over the Jazz and runs neck and neck with the Baleno
