2015 Hero Maestro Edge – first impression of the scooter is positive as road manners and value for money for quotient is high
2015 Hero Maestro Edge has been finally launched today after years and years of testing. Years and years translate to more than 3 years and today is the day when we saw it flesh and we were quite impressed. The features list and value for money quotient is very high as always with any Hero product and 2015 Hero Maestro Edge doesn’t skip that parameter either. Surprisingly, Hero had arranged a small test ride of the 2015 Hero Maestro Edge for a short period of time.
This gave us a quick initial impression of the 2015 Hero Maestro Edge and we tell you the same if it does or doesn’t stack up to expectation and how different the setup from the previous Hero two-wheelers we have ridden. Let’s find out!

2015 Hero Maestro Edge Design
The design of the new 2015 Hero Maestro Edge is of a very handsome scooter. With large 12-inch wheels and telescopic forks and slim front-end gives it a very dynamic look indeed. 2015 Hero Maestro Edge retains the older Maestro’s design when it comes to the side as it looks bold at the same time.
New exhaust and LED taillights look very unique. Comfortable riding position and good seats and properly working switch-gear is also found on the 2015 Hero Maestro Edge.
2015 Hero Maestro Edge Engine & Gearbox
When it comes to performance, the scooter is refined and smooth and revs up cleanly. However, at the same time the exhaust note is on the higher side than the scooter’s of the past from the company as those scooters were Honda engines.
The power band of the scooter is clearly focused on its midrange as it pulls from 40 km/HR onwards because it makes its power of 8.43 PS at a very high for a scooter at 8000 RPM and torque also is higher than usual which is 8.03 NM and that comes at 6500 RPM.
We saw a typical 110cc engine scooter top speed of 80 KM/HR and it will increase slightly because the engines were brand new. Overall, the normal commuter should not be disappointed with driveability, which this motor has, but the enthusiast should be better off with other options.
2015 Hero Maestro Edge Dynamics
Dynamically, the Maestro gets 12-inch wheel at the front and 10-inch wheel at the rear isn’t a good idea, but we are used to it since we drive a Honda Aviator on a daily basis which has the same format.
The ride quality is good, but the best part is stable at high speeds thanks to massive kerb weight and stiff suspension which is also compliant enough that soaks in bad bumps quite easily. MRF rubber has been, as always most welcome as it provides good grip in wet, mud and normal tarmac when in the corners.
2015 Hero Maestro Edge Verdict
What does all of this conclude to? Well, first things first, we would have the Maestro over the Duet any day, because it looks better, has more bells and whistles in its package and is dynamically more secure and offers slightly more performance as well.
However, this is our initial impressions of the scooter. We will put it through our thorough road test and let you know what the high claimed fuel efficiency goes well with proper road conditions. As of now if you are an enthusiast, this may not be the right choice, but this will be the perfect choice for family indeed!
