2015 Audi A6 Facelift brings heavy updates to the mechanical and cosmetic package at the same time

Luxury manufacturer Audi is all set to get aggressive with their plans in India, as they continue to dominate the chart when it comes to competition from Mercedes and BMW. While there have skew of launches from other manufacturers in the same segment, which includes the E-Class and some time back the BMW 5-Series, Audi had to respond and today they have with the new 2015 Audi A6 Facelift. 2015 Audi A6 Facelift was launched in unique way as the launch happened on the popular messenger app What’s App where the video was first showcased.

The list of changes are many and as Audi says, they are class leading. Cosmetically, the grill remains the same in true Audi fashion. However, what changes at the front most is the Matrix LED headlights which are standard through the variant range. Step inside and cabin has the familiar layout with beige and wooden thrown in to make it as luxurious as possible.

Features wise the 2015 Audi A6 Facelift gets Next generation MMI® with 20.32 cm retractable screen; Navigation with MMI® Touch, Intuitive & Advanced Voice Dialogue System, Bose® Surround Sound with 600 watts output. Power seats for both driver and passenger. Safety is important and Audi has 8 airbags on offer and two of them which are side rear airbags to further enhance safety of rear seated passengers.

2015 Audi A6 Facelift

Mechanically, the New 2.0L TDI engine generating 190 hp engine is seen for the first time in VW based vehicle which should make things pretty rapid for this car. 0-100 km/hr is done in a claimed 8.4 seconds. A total of seven percent of horsepower increase and the fuel efficiency has also been bumped up by five percent, over the previous model. 2015 Audi A6 Facelift is said to be lighter with the use aluminium and hot steel has been used to make the body stronger and lighter.

All of that power is now put down to the front wheels via a new seven-speed S tronic® transmission which is essentially a dual-clutch gearbox. All in all Audi A6 is here to stay and give a tough time to its competition with already brand catching up quite well with the masses thanks to design language and also offerings in the lower affordable luxury car segment.
