Here we have listed the 10 plus new cars that will launch in the Indian market next year

Brands like Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra, (add others) will introduce new models across different segments in 2024 and here we have brought you all the dope.

1. Hyundai Creta Facelift

The Hyundai Creta facelift is one of the most highly anticipated cars as it promises to bring in some much-required styling updates. The front is now like the Hyundai Tucson while the rear is expected to get the connected LED treatment. The powertrain options will largely remain the same and the features are expected to be continued along with the addition of ADAS tech.

2. Tata Curvv EV

The Tata Curvv concept grabbed all the attention during its unveil so its only obvious that the production version of the EV is highly anticipated. The battery is expected to provide a range of 500 kms and will be integrated on Tata’s new Gen2 platform. The price is expected to be around Rs.20 Lakh which will get you features like a large touchscreen infotainment, customisable digital driver’s display, touch sensitive climate control and a panoramic sunroof.

3. New Maruti Suzuki Swift and Dzire

The test unit of the new Swift has been spotted a few times in Europe. The design at the front and the rear is expected to be changed completely, traditional rear door handles, and new alloy wheels. The engine options will remain the same with the 1.2-litre NA petrol and CNG variant but we’re keeping our fingers crossed for Suzuki to bring in either the strong hybrid variant or at least plonk the 1.0-litre turbo unit and give us the Swift Sport.

4. Kia Sonet Facelift

The Kia Sonet is in desperate need of a facelift as it has remained the same ever since it was launched except for a few styling tweaks. Unfortunately, the upcoming model is expected to be a minor facelift only and the major changes will be on the exterior, with updated front and rear bumpers, new headlamps, and new taillights, while the rest will remain the same. The powertrain options will be carried over without any change.

5. Tata Harrier EV

The Tata Harrier EV is expected to be launched sometime late next year and the price will be around Rs.25 Lakh. The concept was showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo, and we believe the production variants will remain very similar to the concept. The battery range will be in the ballpark of 550 kms with an all-wheel drive powertrain also in the works. The feature-list is expected to be long along with the addition of ADAS tech.

6. 7-Seater Toyota Corolla Cross

The Japanese manufacturer is assessing the Indian market to bring in another three-row SUV which could be based on the global Corolla Cross. It is based on the TNGA-C platform that is currently being localised through the Innova Hycross. The exterior of the Corolla Cross is expected to receive minor updates before being launched in India while the engine options will be carried over from the Innova Hycross.

7. Toyota Fortuner facelift

The global premiere of the updated Toyota Fortuner is expected to happen during Q1 of 2024 and considering that India has had high demands for the predecessor, it is highly likely that the SUV will arrive during the second half of 2024. The engine might get a hybrid-diesel functionality to keep up with the emission standards, while the exterior design will be greatly influenced by the recently updated Toyota Tacoma in the US.

8. New Hyundai Kona EV

The proposed timeline for the Hyundai Kona EV is around May 2024 with prices ranging from Rs. 25-30 Lakh ex-showroom. Globally it comes with 2 battery packs, and we expect the smaller pack with the less powerful motor to debut here in India. Being a Hyundai, it is expected to have a laundry list of features while also being safe at the same time with the addition of ADAS suite.

9. Kia EV9

With the introduction of EV6, Kia has established itself as a capable EV maker and after its success, it wants to bring in more products. We expect the EV9 to be next in-line and will be launched sometime around the end of 2024. The Kia EV9 is a huge 3-row SUV which is practical, comfortable and a very safe car. The features is likely to be quite long as expected from a Kia and will be equipped with the latest set of ADAS tech to improve safety.

10. New Honda Amaze

The new Honda Amaze will follow the brand’s latest design language, in line with the current City and the international spec Accord. Even though the design is new, the overall length will be below 4 meters to gain the sub-4m incentives. As of now, the engine options are restricted to the 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine as the 1.5-litre diesel unit was recently discontinued by Honda.

11. New Kia Carnival

Kia India CEO confirmed the launch of the updated Kia Carnival and will debut sometime during the second half of 2024. The new Kia Carnival arriving here in India is supposedly a facelifted unit of the international model which is already three years old and most of the styling is expected to be inspired by the Kia EV9. The updated Kia Carnival will have a fresh design and come with more features than before which will in-turn increase the asking price.

12. Nissan X-Trail

The Nissan X-Trail was showcased during an event conducted by Nissan along with 2 other products. It is expected to sport two 12.3-inch screens that act as a digital driver display and a touchscreen infotainment unit, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, and wireless charging. The global model is powered by a 1.3-litre turbo petrol mild hybrid unit which might make it here in a front-wheel drive format only.
