TVS Motor Company has just announced that its best selling automatic scooter Jupiter has crossed 20 lakh unit sales in just four years of its launch. The scooter was launched for the first time back in September 2013. With the passage of time, the Jupiter has seen many updates out of which the Classic Edition is the latest one.

TVS Motor Company claims that by early 2016, the TVS Jupiter was the scooter to reach the 1 million unit sales fastest and to celebrate the occasion, the MillionR edition was launched.

Commenting on the achievement of 2 million unit sales of Jupiter, Mr Aniruddha Haldar, who is the Vice President for Marketing at TVS Motor Company has said that it brings immense delight to the company that the Jupiter is achieving milestone after milestone since its launch. The top honcho further stated that the Jupiter is the first scooter in India to reach 1 million sales mark in a short duration of 4 years. Now, with 20 lakh happy customers, the company feels inspired and will continue to offer superior products coupled with dedicated customer satisfaction initiatives.

Currently, TVS Jupiter is available at the dealerships in a total of four variants. Besides the base variant, the company is offering this scooter in a ZX version that features an optional disc brake up front. Lastly, the most premium trim is the Classic edition that was launched a few weeks back.

Powering the TVS Jupiter is a 109.7cc, single cylinder, air-cooled engine that has been assisted with a CVT transmission. The refined engine cranks out a maximum power output of 7.88 bhp along with a peak torque of 8 Nm.

The prime highlights of the TVS Jupiter are an optional 220mm disc brake at the front, company’s patented SBS (Sync Braking System) to avoid chances of skidding, external fuel fill and a USB charging provision.
