2016 Indian Scout Sixty Unveiled at 2015 EICMA, 999cc Engine Makes it More Approachable

2016 Indian Scout Sixty comes with 999cc engine, a 5-speed gearbox and 78hp, highly tempting for new riders and enthusiasts.

The Milan show aka EICMA 2015 witnessed the most finest and upcoming entry level motorcycles from almost all manufacturers. Some manufacturers had done it last year and saw great successes such as Harley, KTM, Kawasaki, Yamaha and many more. The rest of the motorcycling industry around the world took notice and plonked in some surprises this term. Indian, the motorcycle manufacturer which goes against Harley-Davidson also makes cruisers just like the other American brand.

After launching its scout with a 1200 cc, Indian surprised everyone with a litre class 999cc engine for the same Indian Scout, making it a variant with a new engine in the Scout family.The 2016 Indian Scout Sixty is the brand’s new entry level product in the market.

The 2016 Indian Scout Sixty looks almost on the verge of being identical to the current Scout. Mechanically though, the frame cradles are the biggest change that comes with the 999cc engine. 2016 Indian Scout Sixty name comes from the engine itself as the 999cc engine in cubic inches is sixty.

2016 Indian Scout Sixty makes 78 BHP and 88 Nm of torque. Surprisingly, it uses a five-speed gearbox instead of the six-speed seen on the 1200cc Indian Scout. Except the powertrain, both motorcycles are largely identical with the same chassis, suspension and brakes. The Sixty’s has some differentiating things such as less chrome around the motor, the seat, frame, and wheels are all black.

Given the response for the not so well made Harley, can this be good? This Indian, if the dealership reach widens, can see itself overtaking Harley-Davidson in India. 2016 Indian Scout Sixty is the most promising cruiser of all time and we cannot wait to get our hands on this sixty and many other sixties that were launched at the Milan show.
