Bajaj Auto has updated the Pulsar NS400Z with a new 5-inch TFT instrument console and additional connected functions. The motorcycle currently costs Rs. 1.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and these updates carry over from recently introduced Pulsars like N160 SS. Google Maps mirroring leads the changes with music control, document storage and a lap timer accessible through the new display.
The TFT also houses controls for the four ride modes and traction control system. Bajaj has added a USB Type-C charging port and Panic Brake Alert to the latest version. Features such as bi-directional quickshifter which enables clutchless up and down shifts, radial tyres and dual-channel ABS stay on the motorcycle as the flagship naked streetfighter becomes more equipment rich.
The arrival of the TFT instrumentation has increased the NS400Z’s price by around Rs. 4,000. Power still comes from the 349 cc, four-valve, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine. Output stands at 40 PS at 9,000 rpm and 33 Nm at 7,500 rpm with a 6-speed gearbox handling transmission duties. Bajaj quotes a power-to-weight ratio of 229 PS per tonne. An electronic throttle body supports the four selectable ride modes and traction control system.

As for suspension, it continues to use 43 mm upside-down front forks and the existing braking setup with front and rear disc brakes supported by a dual-channel ABS system. Google Maps mirroring gives riders navigation information directly on the 5-inch TFT. Additionally, music can be controlled through the console and the document storage function keeps selected vehicle related information accessible through the connected system.
The lap timer adds another display function for timed riding sessions. Panic Brake Alert expands the safety equipment and works alongside dual-channel ABS and traction control. The update arrives during the Pulsar brand’s 25th year and gives the NS400Z its biggest interface revision since launch. More motorcycles in the Pulsar range – NS125, NS200 and N250 – will receive the new TFT display and some have already started arriving at dealerships.
