Bajaj is testing a new adventure motorcycle featuring spoke wheels, long-travel suspension and mechanical bits linked to the Pulsar N250; could be dubbed Trekker

Bajaj Auto is currently working on introducing a brand new adventure motorcycle under its own banner and it has been caught testing multiple times on public roads. The test mules have evolved over the last few months and they look to be in their final development phase ahead of global debut which India could get the motorcycle sometime next year. Here are the five things you should know:

1. Proper Adventure Elements

The prototype has enough mechanical changes to separate it from a road motorcycle wearing Adv-based bodywork. Spy images show wire-spoke wheels, a high front mudguard, long-travel telescopic forks and a rear monoshock. Prototypes point towards a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup. Disc brakes sit at both ends and dual-purpose tyres indicate that Bajaj has loose surface riding in mind. The upright riding posture and generous ground clearance also fit the same philosophy.

2. Launch Likely In Early 2027

The motorcycle looks relatively mature in recent test images which has consolidated reports of an introduction in the coming months. Brazil could see the motorcycle before India as Bajaj has been developing products for the trail motorcycle category in that market. Its local arrival is currently expected in early 2027. Trekker has surfaced as a possible production name and we expect it to be priced around Rs. 1.70 lakh to Rs. 2 lakh (ex-showroom).

3. Pulsar N250 Based Engine

The prototypes point towards Bajaj’s 249cc air- and oil-cooled single-cylinder engine. The motor is already found in the Pulsar N250 which recently gained the SS variant with 1 PS more power and a sixth gear. The Adv could receive different gearing and calibration to improve low-end response during trail riding. A six-speed transmission also looks possible and earlier talk of a KTM-derived liquid-cooled motor now looks less convincing.

4. TFT Screen & New Electronics

The test motorcycle carries a rectangular five-inch TFT instrument console similar to recent Bajaj motorcycles. Smartphone connectivity and Google Maps mirroring are expected to feature on the production model. It may also get ride-by-wire throttle system – opening the possibility of multiple riding modes. Switchable ABS also makes sense for a motorcycle intended to venture away from tarmac and traction control is also likely.

5. Touring Capability

The prototype also shows signs of being developed for long distance riding. A long single-piece seat, upright handlebar position, rear luggage carrier and substantial grab rails can be seen on the test motorcycle. Test bikes have also been spotted carrying a top box as factory or accessory luggage options could arrive later. The high-mounted exhaust and protective hardware consolidate the adventure theme further. The resulting motorcycle should sit closer to the Hero Xpulse 210 in purpose.
