Other than Hero Xpulse 200 and KTM 390 Adventure, we have another upcoming adventure bike in the form the UM DSR Adventure

India is all set to get a host of new adventure motorcycles. There has been a lot of noise about two highly awaited adventure motorcycles – Hero Impulse 200 and KTM 390 Adventure. However, these aren’t the only two bikes that are headed our way. UM is also planning to launch a motorcycle in the category in the form of the UM DSR Adventure 200 ABS.

It is being claimed that the UM DSR Adventure 200 ABS will have an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.39 lakh and that it will be launched in four paint options – Olive Green, Brick Red, Midnight Black and Octane Blue. Additionally, the motorcycle will be available with a range of accessories that one can opt to enhance the bike’s touring capabilities.

The UM DSR Adventure 200 ABS will be a dual-purpose motorcycle that will be equally capable both on and off the road. While its high-rise pointed beak is in sync with traditional off-road motorcycles, its 17-inch alloy wheels hint at its road-focussed nature. The usage of alloy wheels ensures that the motorcycle gets tubeless tires instead of the less practical tube-type rubber.

Also, instead of a steel bash plate, the US DSR Adventure 200 ABS gets a plastic cowl that offers mild protection when the bike is being used off the tarmac. A tall windscreen should help the rider save himself from wind blasts at high speeds. The optional accessories pack will include panniers and a top box to help long-distance tourers accommodate their luggage easily. There is also a rear crash protector.

Powering the UM DSR Adventure 200, ABS is a 196cc, single-cylinder, 2-valve, air-cooled, carburettor-equipped engine that offers a maximum power of 16 bhp at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 16 Nm at 6,500rpm. The motor comes mated to a six-speed transmission. Braking is courtesy of disc brakes at both ends while the motorcycle also gets a single-channel ABS.

The UM DSR Adventure 200 ABS will become a direct rival of the Hero Xtreme 200 and a cheaper alternative to the KTM 390 Adventure. The launch is expected to happen in the coming months.
