Toyota is one of the main manufacturers which were not present in the highly competitive c-segment. Even though the company had various models in its international portfolio but they didn’t make it to India. Finally Toyota decided to enter the C-segment with new generation of Yaris and the testing phase began last year itself.
The new Yaris made its Indian debut at 2018 Auto Expo and the company announced prices last month along with officially opening bookings at its dealerships across the country. Toyota will commence the deliveries of Yaris today and the company will deliver around 1000 units across the country today.

The company started manufacturing Yaris last month and the company is expected to deliver around 4,000 units of Yaris by the end of this month to customers across the country. This impressive start will help the Yaris to be among the top three in sales of petrol segment cars. Toyota introduced Yaris only with petrol engine option.

Toyota Yaris is powered by 1.5 L petrol engine producing 106 bhp of power at 6,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm. This engine is mated to 6 speed manual and 7 speed CVT gearbox. The Yaris returns 17.1 Kmpl with manual gearbox and 17.8 Kmpl for CVT gearbox. The Yaris is priced between Rs. 8.75 lakh and Rs. 14.07 lakh (Ex-Showroom). Toyota Yaris compete against Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
