2018 Toyota Yaris Deliveries Review India-90

The chart of top 10 selling sedans in April 2018 witnessed close sales battle in the C-segment between Ciaz and Verna

The top position in the best-selling sedans table for April 2018 saw the latest generation Dzire registering big volume yet again. For successive months, the subcompact sedan has earned its leading slot amongst other competitors while also heading the overall industry sales.

In line with the affinity towards approval of new launches, Hyundai Verna ahead of the established Honda City and behind the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz which is due for a facelift in the coming months. The latter endured 5,116 deliveries to slot in at second ahead of Hyunsai duo, the Verna and Xcent.

In a similar way to the premium hatchback segment where Baleno and Elite i20 have close sales battles, the sedan segment sees Ciaz and City running toe-to-toe to each other but in April 2018 it is a completely different story as Xcent beat city for fourth position with a difference of 346 units.

The Hyundai Xcent subcompact sedan has always been playing second-fiddle to the Maruti Suzuki Dzire in its segment with 3,712 examples being delivered in the fifth month of the year. There is notable absence of Honda Amaze on the list as the brand awaits the arrival of new-gen model on May 16 and it could shake the pecking order by a big margin.
