Simple Wave Launched In India At Rs. 1.09 Lakh with Up To 243 Km Range

Simple Wave electric scooter gets three variants and up to 70 litres of storage; uses up to 5 kWh battery pack and boasts 90 kmph top speed

The Simple Wave has entered India as Simple Energy’s first family scooter with the new electric scooter available in six trims across three variants. The range starts at an introductory price of Rs. 1,09,999 (ex-showroom) while the range-topping Simple Wave + gets a 5 kWh battery, 243 km IDC range and 90 kmph top speed. The company will start deliveries from the last week of September 2026.

The Simple Wave focuses heavily on storage which totals up to 70 litres across three compartments. The underseat storage provides up to 63 litres while the Pill auxiliary storage unit adds another 4 litres and the glove box provides 3 litres. The Pill is an industry-first feature for the segment while the scooter also gets a 1,347 mm wheelbase, 150 kg payload capacity and a 775 mm seat height.

The Simple Wave lineup gets 5 kWh, 3.7 kWh, 2.7 kWh and 2.2 kWh battery options based on the model. The 3.7 kWh version provides up to 171 km IDC range while the 2.7 kWh battery offers up to 132 km and the 2.2 kWh version provides up to 110 km. The 5 kWh version couples its battery with a 6.4 kW PMSM motor that kicks out 179 Nm of wheel torque while the entry-level 2.2 kWh model gets a 4.5 kW motor.

The Simple Wave gets a tubular steel frame, telescopic front suspension, progressive twin rear shock absorbers and 12-inch alloy wheels. The braking hardware consists of a front disc and rear drum supported by a Combined Braking System. The scooter also provides 175 mm of ground clearance and 30 0mm of water wading capability. The entire range gets Ride, Eco and ECOX modes while higher variants add Sport mode.

The Simple Wave can get either a 7-inch TFT display or a 5-inch EBN display. The TFT-equipped versions get Bluetooth, turn-by-turn navigation, GPS tracking, call and music controls, USB charging and over-the-air updates. The high-end variants also get traction control, regenerative braking, hill-hold assist, reverse mode, crawl mode and vehicle tracking. The range gets full-LED lighting across the headlamp, DRLs, tail lamp and indicators.

The Simple Wave gains portable charging support while the range supports both standard and fast charging. The Wave + can charge from 0 to 80 per cent in as little as 2 hours 15 minutes through the fast charging system while a 750 W portable charger supports home charging. The battery pack and motor also come IP67 protection while the chain drive transmission sends power from the PMSM motor to the rear wheel.

The Simple Wave is available for bookings through Simple Energy’s retail network which currently covers more than 75 outlets across 63 Indian cities. The company has a production capacity of 3,000 units per month and plans to raise monthly sales to 10,000 units by March 2027 through capacity and network expansion.
