Renault India has launched the turbocharged version of the Triber at Rs. 7,84,900 (ex-showroom) while introducing the Renault Group Entry Platform in the country for the first time. The new turbo petrol version comes in Evolution, Techno and Emotion trims and tops out at Rs. 8,99,900 (ex-showroom). The exterior and modular seven-seat layout stay the same but Renault has extensively reworked the vehicle underneath across the engine management, chassis, thermal system, braking and structural package.
The TCe 100 turbo petrol mill kicks out 100 PS and 180 Nm with Renault claiming the latter as the highest torque figure in the segment. The certified fuel efficiency stands at 21 kmpl. The French brand has also introduced its new R-EMS engine management system to control response and efficiency. The 1.0-litre engine and sub-four-metre length also qualify the Triber 100PS for the 18 per cent GST rate applicable to small petrol cars.
The RGEP architecture comes with extensive changes below the familiar body. Renault has revised the suspension geometry, added front and rear anti-roll bars and introduced MTV damper technology. The braking calibration and vehicle dynamics tuning are also new and structural changes target durability and crash protection. Renault says the engineering work was developed specifically around local road conditions.

Thermal management receives a notable upgrade through a Brushless Direct Current cooling fan. Renault says BLDC technology is more commonly associated with vehicles from higher categories including hybrids and EVs. The system provides more precise cooling control and improves energy efficiency. Its addition supports the higher output turbo engine and helps the Triber achieve the quoted 21 kmpl figure despite the increase to 100 PS and 180 Nm.
The modular cabin still accommodates five, six or seven occupants. The third-row seats, a sliding and reclining second row and one-touch tumble access provide more than 100 seating configurations according to Renault. Boot capacity reaches 625 litres in five-seat configuration, ground clearance stands at 182 mm, interior storage totals 23 litres and the roof rails have a rated load capacity of up to 50 kg.
Equipment varies across the three turbo variants and includes an 8-inch floating touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, digital LED instrument cluster, automatic air-conditioning, cruise control, wireless charging, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, push-button start and a Smart Access Card. Independent rear AC vents serve the second and third rows. LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs and LED tail lamps are also part of the lineup.
Six airbags and 21 safety features are standard across the Triber 100PS range. Front parking sensors, a rear-view camera with guidelines and TPMS are available too. Renault has so far sold more than 2.5 lakh Tribers in India.
