The Range Rover Sport Twenty Edition has been introduce in India at a price tag of Rs. 1.90 crore (ex-showroom) as it celebrates two decades since the model entered production. The limited edition adds exclusive exterior and interior details to the luxury SUV. It takes inspiration from the Range Rover Sport’s history particularly the Stormer concept and the Vesuvius Orange First Edition while borrowing its front seats from the flagship Range Rover Sport SV.
The most distinctive colour offered on the Twenty Edition is Sanguinello Orange – an ultra-metallic shade that pays tribute to the orange Range Stormer concept. Santorini Black and Ostuni White are also available. A Black Exterior Pack enables the SUV a darker treatment while 23-inch glossy silver alloy wheels come as standard and gloss black wheels are available as an option.
The ‘TWENTY’ detailing appears across the exterior while illuminated tread plates and centre console scripting identify the anniversary edition inside. The cabin receives Ebony Windsor seats derived from the Range Rover Sport SV. These sculpted seats draw on motorsport-inspired design and are coupled with forged carbon veneers and a black suedecloth headlining.
The result is a darker and sportier cabin treatment. A 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 mild-hybrid petrol engine is offered alongside the P550e plug-in hybrid globally. The latter combines a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine, a 105 kW electric motor and a 38.2 kWh battery to produce 550 PS but only the former has been opted for India. It is good enough to generate 530 PS and 750 Nm torque and can do the zero to 100 kmph sprint in just 4.5 seconds.
The Twenty Edition also draws heavily from the two-decade history of the Range Rover Sport. The first generation SUV introduced a more dynamic interpretation of the Range Rover formula while later generations brought lighter construction, sleeker proportions and increasingly modern chassis technology. The second generation also spawned the 550 PS Range Rover Sport SVR in 2014 ahead of the Range Rover Sport Hybrid globally before the 635 PS Range Rover Sport SV arrived as the flagship offering in 2023.
The second generation Range Rover Sport set a production SUV record at the Pikes Peak Hill Climb in 2013. Five years later, another Range Rover Sport climbed China’s 999 steps to Heaven’s Gate across 45-degree inclines. The SUV also completed an 800 km high speed run across Saudi Arabia’s Empty Quarter while the third-gen drove 193 metres up the Kárahnjúkar Dam in Iceland through a torrent of water.
