New Skoda Slavia is equipped with an 8-speed automatic, rear seat massage function, 360-degree camera and AI-powered infotainment this time around

Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has started production of the new Slavia at its Chakan plant in Pune ahead of the festive season. Nearly 80,000 units have been sold in India since launch and Skoda says the sedan now holds close to 30 per cent of its segment. The mid-cycle update adds new technology and features, and a major transmission change for the 1.0-litre TSI.

The biggest mechanical revision is the new eight-speed torque converter automatic coupled with the 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI engine. The new gearbox replaces the previous six-speed automatic setup for the smaller turbo petrol mill. The rear seat equipment receives one of the most notable upgrades as well.

The new Skoda Slavia introduces a segment-first massage function for the rear seat and also adds a 360-degree surround view camera system. The infotainment system now gets an AI Companion powered by Google Cloud. The sedan keeps its 5-star Global NCAP safety credentials. Commenting on the new model, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India, said:

“The new Slavia elevates everything customers value about the car, combining timeless design, European engineering and safety, engaging performance, modern technology, and greater comfort. As we begin production of the new Slavia, we reaffirm our commitment to strengthening Škoda’s sedan legacy in India with products that remain fresh, relevant, and aspirational.”

The Signature and Sportline trims feature a 20.32 cm virtual cockpit with Prestige and Monte Carlo moving to a larger 26.03 cm unit with turn-by-turn navigation. The Classic and Classic+ keep analogue instruments and a smaller 17.7 cm touchscreen and top trims receive the 25.6 cm infotainment system with inbuilt connectivity and a Google Cloud.

Other highlights are electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats on selected variants. Six airbags and more than 25 safety features are available across the range. The Signature trim gets a reverse-view camera, and Sportline, Prestige and Monte Carlo add the new 360-degree camera unit.

Exterior changes include new LED headlamps and fog lamps at the front in addition to revised LED tail lamps with sequential turn indicators at the rear. Wheel designs also change across the range – starting with steel wheels and covers on Classic and extending to 16-inch alloy wheels on top-end trims. The Monte Carlo gets a distinct look with red detailing around the grille badge, red-painted brake calipers and a dedicated alloy wheel design.

Skoda Auto Volkswagen India currently operates two manufacturing facilities with a combined annual capacity of 3.15 lakh units. The group crossed 2 million locally produced vehicles in 2025 and has exported more than 7.25 lakh vehicles to over 40 countries. The expanded Technology Centre Pune also supports localisation, product adaptation and development work for India and export markets.

The updated Slavia now has three major changes at the centre of its launch story: the 8-speed automatic for the 1.0-litre TSI, rear-seat massage and the 360-degree camera. The AI-powered infotainment system adds another new element, but Skoda has yet to announce the complete variant-wise equipment list and prices. Production is already underway, so the market launch and final pricing are the next details to watch.
