Hyundai’s upcoming Bayon-based SUV has been spotted once again, this time revealing the cabin in much greater detail. Internally codenamed BC4i, the new SUV is expected to sit between the Venue and Creta and could become Hyundai’s answer to the likes of the Maruti Victoris. The latest spy shots suggest that development is now well advanced, with production-ready test vehicles already running on Indian roads.
The cabin follows a fairly minimalist theme, with the latest test car featuring a dual-tone black-and-white interior. The dashboard appears to have a flat upper section, while the steering wheel looks similar to the one seen on the new Venue and gets Hyundai’s latest four-dot logo treatment. The biggest visual highlight is the pair of integrated screens, with one serving as the digital instrument cluster and the other handling infotainment duties.
Hyundai seems to be focusing on making this a practical family SUV rather than a purely style-led crossover. The available spy shots suggest a reasonably spacious cabin, although the heavy camouflage means finer details remain difficult to make out. Chrome detailing could also feature on the dashboard, while the overall layout looks cleaner than some of Hyundai’s older interiors.

The exterior follows Hyundai’s latest design direction, with H-shaped LED DRLs mounted high up on the front fascia, a slatted grille and separate headlamp housings lower down. The SUV also gets prominent wheel-arch cladding, functional roof rails, a sunroof and angular window frames. At the rear, the test vehicle features parking sensors and a raked windscreen, while the lighting signature is expected to mirror the front-end treatment.
Interestingly, the latest test mule also appears to be equipped with a 360-degree camera, which should be useful given the SUV’s larger footprint. Conventional pull-type door handles are being used, suggesting Hyundai is choosing practicality over the flush-fitting handles seen on some newer premium models.

Hyundai is expected to offer the Bayon-based SUV with petrol and CNG powertrains, although the final line-up is yet to be confirmed. The most obvious candidate is the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine already used by the Creta. In the Creta, this motor produces 115 PS and 143.8 Nm and is available with a six-speed manual and IVT automatic.
A CNG option could be particularly interesting because it would make this Hyundai one of the first SUVs above four metres to offer the fuel. A dual-cylinder CNG setup could be used to minimise the impact on boot space, although that too remains speculative at this stage.
