Maruti Suzuki Cross 2.19 Lakh Unit Sales In August, 10 Lakh+ Sales In FY27 So Far

Maruti Suzuki has crossed 10 lakh total sales in the first five months of FY2027 as domestic passenger car volumes increase notably in August 2026

Maruti Suzuki sold 2,19,220 vehicles in August 2026 as the sales were up from 1,80,683 units during the same month last year. The company crossed 10 lakh units in cumulative sales within the first five months of FY2027 as total sales between April and August 2026 reached 11,43,365 units. The domestic passenger car sales stood at 1,76,971 units in August as compared to 1,31,278 units in August 2025.

The company also sold 3,107 light commercial vehicles in the domestic market – taking its passenger vehicle and LCV sales to 1,80,078 units. The sales to other OEMs (Toyota) stood at 5,298 units while exports stood at 33,844 units last month. The PV portfolio saw higher volumes across its key segments last month when we break it down.

The mini car sales stood at 8,799 units as compared to 6,853 units a year earlier while the compact and midsize segment reached 77,166 units against 59,597 units during the corresponding period twelve months ago. The Indo-Japanese brand’s utility vehicle sales stood at 79,045 units – up from 54,043 units while the van segment recorded 11,961 units compared to 10,785 units a year earlier.

MSIL’s local numbers including sales to other OEMs stood at 1,85,376 units in August 2026 as compared to 1,44,145 units in the same month last year. The figure includes 1,76,971 passenger vehicles, 3,107 LCVs and 5,298 units sold to other OEMs. Meanwhile, the export volumes stood at 33,844 units as against 36,538 units in August 2025.

The cumulative numbers for the first five months of FY2027 also show a substantial increase over the corresponding period last year. Maruti Suzuki sold 8,98,402 PVs in the domestic market between April and August 2026 when compared to 6,62,626 units in the same period of FY2026. Its domestic passenger vehicle and LCV sales stood at 9,15,008 units as against 6,76,702 units a year earlier.

Sales to other OEMs stood at 39,721 units during the April-August period when compared against 47,113 units in the corresponding period last year. The total export volumes reached 1,88,636 units compared to 1,65,255 units in the previous year while domestic passenger vehicle, LCV and OEM sales together stood at 9,54,729 units.

Maruti Suzuki’s total sales reached 11,43,365 units during the first five months of FY2027 as against 8,89,070 units in the corresponding period last year. The August numbers add to a commendable start to the financial year while the domestic car business accounts for the bulk of the increase.
