Mahindra Bolero Bold Edition gets bronze exterior details, black leatherette seats and a rear view camera

Mahindra has revealed the Bold Edition as a specially accessorised version of its long serving SUV, the Bolero. The edition is curated through an exclusive accessory package as the treatment introduces bronze detailing across the exterior and cabin while a rear view camera joins the equipment list. As you might expect, no mechanical changes have been made.

The regular Bolero range currently starts at Rs. 8.57 lakh for the B4 and reaches Rs. 9.99 lakh for the B8. The B6 sits at Rs. 9.37 lakh as the B6(O) costs Rs. 9.69 lakh (ex-showroom). Prices for the Bold Edition accessory set have not been specified yet. As for the performance, the well-known 1,493 cc mHawk75 three-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine continues to be employed.

The motor is good enough to churn out a maximum power output of 76 PS at 3,600 rpm and 210 Nm of peak torque between 1,600 and 2,200 rpm. A five-speed manual gearbox sends power to the rear wheels through the 2WD drivetrain. The diesel mill complies with BS6 stage 2 emission norms while the fuel tank capacity stands at 60 litres.

The Bolero measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,745 mm in width and 1,880 mm in height while the wheelbase stands at 2,680 mm. The cabin accommodates seven occupants in a 5+2 seating configuration. The regular range runs 215/75 R15 tyres while the sub-four-metre length sits beneath a tall and upright structure that has long defined the Bolero nameplate.

The Bold Edition is visually separated by its bronze theme. The front receives bronze-inspired accents, the alloy wheels get the same bronze finish and more prominent cladding runs along the sides. Roof rails are also included in the accessory list. The treatment stays largely cosmetic as the familiar squared-off Bolero profile can be seen unchanged.

The cabin gains black leatherette seats featuring bronze accents extending the exterior theme inside. Mahindra has also fitted a rear-view camera which should particularly help during low speed parking. The model retains independent front suspension and coil springs while a rigid rear axle and leaf springs sit at the back. Front disc and rear drum brakes handle stopping duties.

Across the regular Bolero range, the safety equipment covers ABS, dual front airbags, reverse parking sensors and front seatbelt reminders. Higher trims also get power windows, central locking, remote locking and a rear wash/wipe function. The Bolero range already offers a 17.8 cm touchscreen on selected trims, steering-mounted audio controls, USB Type-C charging port, etc.
