The much-awaited Sorento has finally arrived in Indian showrooms, and as much as its Rs. 27.99-lakh (ex-showroom) starting price is, the extensive range of configurations Kia is offering it in has come as quite a surprise. Between the different variants, powertrain, and seating options, customers have a choice of 32 different configurations. Here’s a breakdown of the Kia Sorento’s different variants:
The base variant of the Kia Sorento comes quite generously equipped. Multi-reflector LED headlamps, dynamic turn signals, 18-inch alloy wheels, a semi-digital instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch display, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a wireless smartphone charger, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, a 10-way power driver seat with lumbar adjustment, and paddle shifters are standard.

Kia bundles plenty of driver assistance and safety features as well, including a reverse camera, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, and seven airbags. An optional package is available to add more comfort and convenience features such as a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, smart power tailgate, an 8-way power passenger seat, and front-seat ventilation. It costs Rs. 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
HTK upgrades to projector LED headlamps and LED tail lamps, 19-inch alloy wheels, and a 12.3-inch HD digital instrument cluster. It is also distinguished by a 12-speaker Bose premium sound system, a dial-type gear selector, and a 64-colour ambient lighting system. The HTK variant also improves safety with a 360-degree camera system, Blind View Monitor, Side Parking Sensors, and LED fog lamps. Starting with the HTK variant, a six-seat layout is available across the range as an option.

An optional package is available to improve safety in the HTK variant, priced at Rs. 1 lakh (ex-showroom). It adds 21 advanced driver assistance systems, including but not limited to Front Collision-Avoidance Assist-Direct Oncoming (FCA-DO), Front Collision-Avoidance Assist-Junction Turning (FCA-JT), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist (BCA), and Rear Cross Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist (RCCA).
A Black Line package is also available, bringing a blacked-out colour scheme variant, but it can only be had along with the aforementioned ADAS package. The alloy wheels, brand and model name emblems, fender garnish, belt line, and various other elements come in black colour for a sportier styling.
The HTX variant brings a major upgrade in the form of an AWD system and three terrain modes: Snow, Mud, and Sand. It also offers. The added conveniences of Digital Key 2.0, Remote Smart Parking Assist, satellite navigation, AI-based voice commands, and a 220-volt power outlet.
Relaxation seats with 10-way power adjustment, massage-like ‘Ergo’ function on the driver’s side, and sliding headrests improve comfort in the first row. In the second row, a ventilation function and wing-type headrests (six-seat version) improve comfort. Safety also goes up, with a head-up display, digital IRVM, and ten airbags.

Kia also offers the Black Line styling package on the HTX trim, and it can be had with or without the aforementioned ADAS package, for a premium of Rs. 20,000 (ex-showroom).
