Kia India posted 33,462 units in October 2026 as Seltos crossed 13,000 units and electric vehicle sales grew 31 per cent MoM

Kia recorded its best monthly wholesale tally since its market entry at 33,462 units in October as volumes rose 13.22 per cent from 29,556 units a year ago in the Indian market. The company also bettered its September 2026 record of 32,017 units by 1,445 vehicles which was a record in itself back then. As festive purchases picked up across the country, Kia registered a new monthly high for the second consecutive month.

The Kia Seltos was central to the October numbers after getting past 13,000 unit sales. The midsize SUV has averaged more than 10,000 units per month since its January 2026 launch in its new generation and is expected to receive a strong hybrid trim sometime next year as in the European market. The Sonet also registered significant volumes in the compact SUV category last month.

The Kia Carens and Carens Clavis added another notable contribution through their CNG derivatives which generated close to 10 per cent of the brand’s October wholesales. The electric vehicle business posted its best ever monthly tally as sales grew 31 per cent over September. The recently introduced Syros EV and Carens Clavis EV contributed to the increase as Kia seeks to expand its footprint across SUV and family-mobility categories further.

As monthly sales moved to a new high, Kia had already crossed its entire CY25 volume before November began. The January to October 2026 wholesales stood at 2,86,470 units – 21.31 per cent higher than the corresponding period of ten months last year. The figure is also above the 2,80,286 vehicles Kia sold across the full 2025 calendar year leaving November and December to add further volume to its 2026 tally.

The Sorento has introduced Kia to another part of the premium SUV market. The SUV comes in Hybrid and Diesel versions, and Kia says the initial customer response has been encouraging. The hybrid option also adds another propulsion choice to a range that already covers petrol, diesel, CNG and electric vehicles. It is locally produced at the brand’s Anantapur facility in Andhra Pradesh.
