Hyundai Motor India has unveiled the India-spec Bayon ahead of its official launch on October 26, 2026. Bookings are open at Rs. 11,000 through the manufacturer’s website and authorised dealerships nationwide. The new five-seater SUV gets a 1.5-litre petrol engine alongside a technology package comprising generative AI, connected navigation and remote software updates. Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin during the festive season.
The Hyundai Bayon features a four-cylinder 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine pushing out 113 hp maximum power and 144 Nm of torque. Transmission options comprise a six-speed manual gearbox and Hyundai’s Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). The naturally aspirated engine is accompanied by a choice between conventional manual gear changes and an automatic transmission as the Bayon will be available in an expansive range.
The SUV introduces Hyundai India’s first generative AI voice assistant which incorporates technology from Perplexity and SoundHound AI. Perplexity provides the intelligence component and SoundHound AI handles voice interaction. The system understands conversational requests and can generate travel itineraries, provide weather information and recommend nearby hotels, restaurants and shopping destinations. Drivers can also request sports scores and related information through the assistant.

Meanwhile, the infotainment and instrument displays offer a multilingual interface covering ten regional and two international languages. The embedded commands enable access to compatible vehicle functions even without mobile data connectivity.
In addition, Hyundai’s Bluelink provides more than 70 in-car connected features on the Bayon. The package comprises remote engine start and stop, vehicle information, remote controls and location-based services. Smartphone and smartwatch connectivity provide access to compatible functions away from the vehicle. Navigation-based services and electronic safety and security functions are also part of the connected package.

The system enables Hyundai to deliver eligible software revisions and feature enhancements without requiring a dealership visit for each update. The technology extends remote updates to vehicle electronic controllers in addition to the SUV’s infotainment and connected car systems.
