Hero MotoCorp revealed the XPulse adventure bike at the 2017 EICMA show in Milan before making local debut at the Auto Expo this past February. The largest two-wheeler maker in the country will not delay the launch of the XPulse and has already been confirmed to enter the market sometime this year, probably ahead of festive season. As like every other Hero motorcycle you see on road, it will be competitively priced at a range of around Rs. 1-1.2 lakh (ex-showroom).
The XPulse 200 triggers the entry-level adventure segment in India and won’t have any direct competitors when it goes on sale. It will be hoping to mask the disappoints created by Impulse that had indeed arrived way ahead of its time with a nimble 150 cc engine and decent off-roading characteristics. Compared to its closest rival in all intents and purposes, the Royal Enfield Himalayan, it is more likely to be Rs. 70,000 cheaper as well – rendering a huge gap that would take a while for other mainstream manufacturers to fulfill.

The low kerb weight should give a better power-to-weight ratio, offsetting the lack of power compared to the Himalayan and its performance will be a key factor in its popularity. It boasts a sleek bare-minimum exterior featuring LED lighting system, side panels reminding the Impulse, disc brakes at the front and the rear, long travel suspension unit with conventional telescopic front forks and monoshock rear. It also gains tall windscreen and fenders, knuckle guards, slim fuel tank, single-piece seat, high mounted exhaust, etc.
