The BMW F 450 RR will join the recently unveiled F 450 R streetfighter and F 450 GS adventure tourer with a 420 cc parallel-twin engine

Barely a week after the global debut of the F 450 R naked streetfighter, BMW Motorrad has released the first teaser of its fully faired supersport sibling. The motorcycle, expected to carry the F 450 RR name, will make its world premiere on October 15, 2026. The new sportsbike will join the F 450 R and F 450 GS adventure tourer as the third member of BMW’s 450 cc motorcycle range.

The first teaser shows the supersport parked on a highway at night with its outline partially illuminated by streetlights. The motorcycle features a prominent front fairing, a raised windscreen and rearview mirrors positioned near the upper cowl. The fuel tank has a muscular shape and the rear bodywork rises towards a compact tail. Alloy wheels and an illuminated front LED element are also visible.

The upcoming RR could receive a variant lineup similar to the F 450 R which comes in Base, Exclusive, M Sport and M Sport with Innovation Package versions. The Base and Exclusive trims get Cosmic Black paint and the M Sport derivatives feature Snaefell White with BMW M Motorsport graphics. The Exclusive includes Shift Assistant Pro and Sport suspension with Riding Modes Pro offered on the M Sport.

The top-spec Innovation Package adds Easy Ride Clutch technology which enables clutch-free starts and stops. BMW could offer almost the same equipment packages on its new supersport including an M Sport derivative with dedicated graphics. The electronic systems could also come from the naked streetfighter which features Rain, Road and Dynamic riding modes.

The F 450 R gets Dynamic Traction Control, ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control and engine drag torque control. The motorcycle also features a 6.5-inch TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity and navigation functions. The faired model will also receive the same electronic assistance systems with the equipment differing based to variant.

It will compete with Aprilia RS 457, Kawasaki Ninja 500 and Yamaha YZF-R3 amongst others. It will be powered by the familiar 420 cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. The unit develops 48 hp at 8,750 rpm and 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm, and is hooked with a six-speed transmission. The engine features a 135-degree crankpin offset and a balance shaft.

It will sit on a tubular steel frame with the engine acting as a stressed member while features such as 43 mm KYB upside-down front forks, an aluminium swingarm and a rear monoshock will also be available. The braking system will comprise a 310 mm front disc with a Brembo four-piston caliper and a 240 mm rear disc. The BMW F 450 RR will also be manufactured in India through the company’s partnership with TVS. Expect it to launch in India in early 2027.
