The facelifted Elevate is scheduled to debut in India tomorrow as the midsize SUV receives its first substantial update. The pre-launch bookings opened on October 1 for Rs. 21,000 at authorised Honda dealerships and the India-spec model gets exterior and interior revisions as Honda adds equipment to address some of the feature gaps of the current Elevate. The mechanical package should stay unchanged as the existing 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine carries forward.
The Indian market will become the first country to receive the Honda Elevate facelift. It must be noted that the five-seater is shipped to multiple global markets from Tapukara plant in Rajasthan.
The teasers confirm a substantially revised face for the Elevate. The front gets a redesigned grille, a Honda emblem positioned closer to the bonnet edge and a new segmented LED lighting treatment. The bumpers are also expected to receive revisions as part of the exterior update.
The rear gets a new connected LED tail lamp treatment that changes the appearance of the SUV after dark with twin parallel trips. The facelift will also receive revised rear bumper details and new alloy wheels.
The dashboard receives revised trim as Honda changes the interior presentation. The teaser also shows ambient lighting and new leatherette upholstery.
The ventilated front seats could move into the factory equipment list on the facelift. The feature would address one of the equipment differences between the Elevate and several midsize SUV rivals.
The 360-degree camera system is also expected to become a factory-fitted feature on selected variants. The current Elevate has offered camera-related equipment through accessories and the facelift could integrate the system directly into the regular variant list.
The facelift could also receive a power-adjustable driver seat, front parking sensors and an upgraded audio system. The 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system is expected to stay alongside wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility while a 10.25-inch digital instrument console could also be offered. The wireless charger, automatic climate control, single-pane sunroof and connected car functions could carry over.
The Honda Sensing ADAS package is expected to stay put on the facelift in the higher trims like ZX. The current system offers adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking and lane-keep assistance and it could be updated. The safety package also gets six airbags, hill-hold assist and rear parking sensors on the existing SUV.
The Elevate facelift should retain the existing 1.5L naturally aspirated four-cylinder VTEC petrol engine. The motor kicks out 121 hp maximum power and 145 Nm of peak torque. The transmission choices will more likely stay as a six-speed manual and CVT automatic.
The current Elevate measures 4,312 mm long, 1,790 mm wide and 1,650 mm tall. The wheelbase measures 2,650 mm, ground clearance stands at 220 mm and boot capacity is 458 litres. The facelift could command a slight price increase as equipment levels rise.
