Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) is preparing to launch a number of new updates to its model portfolio along with introducing new vehicles this year. Since entering in March 2016, the Vitara Brezza has grown as a pivotal sales contributor and capitalising on its popularity the company has now expanded the offering range.
As we exclusively revealed, the 2018MY Vitara Brezza receives dual airbags and ABS as standard across the board, eliminating the existence of LDi (O) and VDi (O) variants. With additional chrome treatment on front grille and boot garnish, new interior black theme and black glossy alloy wheels, the Indo-Japanese manufacturer has responded to new market moves from rivals like Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport.

The cosmetic changes are not the only addition as Maruti Suzuki is pushing more out of the Vitara Brezza’s stable. As we exclusively confirmed a few days before, the launch of much-awaited AMT version of the subcompact SUV has officially happened. The New Delhi headquartered brand is not selling the AMT transmission in the base-spec LDi variant.
It is only provided in VDi and top-spec ZDi, ZDi+ and ZDi+ dual-tone trims. The race for best AMT equipped subcompact SUV is well and truly on as Tata introduced the six-speed AMT with creep function and hill assist on Nexon just a while ago. The price for the 2018 Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza AMT starts at Rs. 8,54,000 for VDi AGS, Rs. 9,31,500 for ZDi AGS and Rs. 10,27,000 for ZDi+ AGS and Rs. 10,49,000 for ZDi+ Ags dual-tone (all prices, ex-showroom New Delhi).

The best-selling SUV in the country now complies with advanced safety regulations – having been already certified for offset and side impact crash tests – including pedestrian safety ahead of the stringent regulations coming into play. It features ISOFIX child restraint system, high speed warning alert, front seat belt pre-tensioners and force limiters, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors as standard across all range.
We can expect the same fuel economy of 24.3 kmpl as the main advantage of AMT is returning as much mileage as its manual counterpart amidst offering the ease of driving the two-pedal technology should. Currently, Nexon is the solo model to offer a diesel automatic option in the segment and since the potential is always there, Vitara Brezza has jumped in the bandwagon.
