Top 10 selling cars in February 2017 witnessed Hyundai Grand i10 beating Maruti Swift for fourth position by a small margin

Maruti Suzuki kicked off the new year the way it wanted to as the top 10 most sold cars list continues to see its domination. As has been the case, the Alto entry-level hatchback led the way again as a total of 19,524 units was registered. Just behind the Alto was none other than the Swift Dzire compact sedan. Despite having strong sales throughout, it will be replaced by a new generation model later this year.

But the volume catering sedan’s existing generation recorded 16,613 examples in February 2017. The WagonR is another long-running model that set the cash registers ringing. With a next gen model expected only in the near future, monthly sales figures like 13,555 units would keep the momentum swinging in its favour.

The Elite i20 premium hatchback leads the second half of the table with 10,414 units and most importantly registered close to 3,000 units more than Baleno.

Since introduction, Baleno has constantly been up there with the Elite i20 but last month was an exception while Vitara Brezza compact SUV mocked the competition and rose to segment-leading status within a few months of its entry last year.
