In Top 10 Selling Cars in August 2015, Honda City, Jazz and Hyundai Creta enter the list

Yet again, Maruti Suzuki holds its dominance in car sales in India in August 2016. Six out of Ten cars belong to Maruti Suzuki and Alto tops the sales chart. Let’s analysis the car sales report of august 2015.

Honda Jazz

Launched in India in the month of July this year, Honda Jazz successfully enters the Top 10 Car selling list consecutively for the second month. Honda Cars India retailed 5404 units of Jazz in the country. Relaunched in India after a very long period, Honda Jazz got a dream response in the country. Secures 10th Place in Top 10 Selling Cars in August 2015 list.

Honda City

Honda City beats, Jazz in terms of sales with the least possible number, i.e one, Honda Cars India retails 5405 units of the City means one more than Jazz. In the same month last year, Honda retailed only 757 units of the City due to the halt in production, now Honda is manufacturing City at the Honda’s Tapukara plant in Rajasthan.

Hyundai Creta

This not more than a dream response by a 12 lakh+ car cum SUV in India. Launched in July this year, Hyundai Creta becomes the most successful SUV in India in less than 2 months. Hyundai Creta now have a waiting period up to 10 months in India, Hyundai India postpones the plans of exporting it, increased the production to 7000+ units a month. In August 2015, 7300+ Hyundai Creta sold in the country and secures the 8th birth on Top 10 Selling Cars in August 2015 list.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio

Available with all possible engine and transmission options, Maruti Celerio was the India’s most fuel efficient car in India in the month of August. Later, this title is clinched by Ciaz hybrid. Maruti Celerio comes with Petrol, CNG, Petrol AMT & Diesel Engine options. Recently, Maruti added world’s first super compact diesel engine and it helps Celerio to sell in good numbers. In the same month last year, 6656 units of Celerio sold and this August, Maruti successfully retailed 7927 units of it to secure its birth in Top 10 Selling cars in August 2015 list.

Hyundai Elite i20

Until July 2015, the Hyundai Elite i20 was the top selling Hyundai model in India, But it seems its arch rival Honda Jazz mark some impact on its sales. Last month, Hyundai retailed 10,000+ units, while this August, numbers down to 8521 units. However, Elite i20 still in Top 10 Selling cars of August list and is on 6th place.

Hyundai Grand I10

Hyundai Grand I10 outsold’s Elite i20 to become India’s Top Selling Hyundai model in India. In the same month last year, Hyundai retailed 6677 of Grand i10 while, this August, the numbers rise to whopping 10,255 to secure fifth place in Top 10 selling car of August 2015 list.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR

Yet again, Maruti Suzuki Wagon R holds 4th Spot in the list. Maruti Suzuki retailed 14,648 units compared to the 13,133 units in the same month last year. However, upcoming Renault Kwid could mark impact on these numbers very soon as its launch expected later this month.

Maruti Suzuki Swift

Maruti Swift hatchback sold alsmost equal to what it was solds in August 2014, As compared to YOY sales data, Maruti retailed 905 units less than what it retailed last year. In August 2015, Maruti retailed 16,811 units of Swift compared to 17,716 last year. Maruti Swift is No.3 on Top 10 selling car of August 2015

Maruti Swift Dzire

Maruti Suzuki retails 1 millionth Dzire in July this year, holds top Spot in the list of Top 10 Selling Cars from the last several months, but losses the top spot with Alto this month. However, in August 2015, Maruti Suzuki retails 18,718 units compared to 19,129 units last year saw a marginal decline of 411 units.

Maruti Suzuki Alto

India’s no.1 Selling car for years now again hold the top spot in monthly sales, as over 23,017 units retailed in the month of August 2015. In the same month last year, Maruti Suzuki retailed 21,553 units and hence, saw a good growth of above 1464 units the year.
