Tata Motors is one of the largest automobile companies in India. The company has posted positive growth in the last fiscal year and profits are increasing which gives confidence for the company to foray into new technologies for the future. Tata Motors announced that the company is working on on close to a dozen of electric and hybrid solutions.
Tata Motors is setting up a new EV business to work on these technologies and it is headed by Shilesh Chandra. The company is developing a new 320 volt battery which comes with faster acceleration, efficiency and fast charging. This battery is capable of delivering range of more than 300 km depending on the vehicles.

Like most of the international manufacturers which develop new models that can accommodate combustion engines along with electric engines like BMW iX3 EV concept which debuted in Beijing Auto Show as it is based on current generation X3. The new OMEGA and ALFA platforms from Tata Motors are designed for electric and combustion engines.

The company earlier confirmed that the upcoming H5X can accommodate electric engine as it is designed for both engines. The production version of H5X will be initially offered in petrol and diesel engines with hybrid joining the line up later and an EV version is possible in future as it will depend on how EV market develops in next couple of years.
